Event ReportDear members and friends: The seminar for introducing Guizhou was a great success. Participants included professors from SJSU, host families of the Guizhou Leader’s delegation in US, elected city officials, professional, GZOPA Board Directors and members. The following guests are among the attendees:
Kansen Chu, Council member of City of San Jose The seminar started with one-minute silent tribute to the victims of China 5/12 Earthquake. After the welcome speech by Dr. Jing DaoChao, Vice Chancellor of Guizhou University, Dr. Wang Shangyan from the delegation made a presentation to introduce Guizhou’s natural scenery resources. The audience was deeply moved by his passionate introduction for the stunning sceneries in Guizhou. Many of the marvelous sceneries are new even to Guizhou natives. Professor Zhao Tao from the delegation made a speech about Guizhou’s tourism resources and market opportunities. As introduced by yesterday’s speakers, the natural beauty of Guizhou is overwhelmingly attractive and its opportunities for tourism and other industries are unlimited. Sam Liu, President of Guizhou overseas Promotion GZOPA, briefly introduced GZOPA to the audience. The introduction covers GZOPA’s mission and what the accomplishments in the past and the plan for future. He indicated that GZOPA has been introducing cutting edge technologies and innovations to Guizhou and promote Guizhou to the world in the past five years. He said:” For many years, Guizhou has not been adequately introduced to the outside world. The world has very limited information about Guizhou. As an organization with focus to promote Guizhou, we believe the future of Guizhou is bright and the opportunities for Guizhou’s economic development are endless. We will continue to work tirelessly with our members and friends to introduce and promote Guizhou to the world. I sincerely wish you could go to Guizhou to explore the unbounded opportunities by yourself.” A DVD video titled “Introducing Guizhou: A Colorful Chinese Kaleidoscope” was shown to the audience before the seminar ended. The audience was very impressed by the gorgeous sceneries and quality of the DVD production. Thank all of you for your support and participation.
